1. Supply of raw materials from exploration and mining
We are interested in cooperation to submit a project proposal to ERA-MIN3 as a project partner or coordinator.
Our area of expertise covers geophysics methods, including remote source methods (VLF and magnetotellurics), in exploration programs, integration of geological and geophysical data with resource calculation and mine planning software, mineral resource and ore reserve estimation, grade calculations and 3D models.
For a geophysical technique to be useful in mineral exploration, there must be contrasts in the physical properties of the rocks concerned that are related, directly or indirectly, to the presence of economically significant minerals. Geophysical anomalies, defined as differences from a constant or slowly varying background, may then be recorded.
We are interested in using advanced filtering, processing and forecasting techniques, based on existing multiparametric data for different areas in Romania or abroad. We have a rich database, a strong infrastructure and competent human resources not only in geology-geophysics but also in fields such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, information and ICT. Among the methods used for this purpose I can mention a few: Wavelet analyzes, Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average, Machine Learning and so on.
Through the experience we have in the use of applied mathematics and informatics techniques, we are interested in participating in the directions from the Era-Min3 topic:
3.3: Increase resource efficiency using information and communication technologies (ICT)
4.6: Increase recycling or reuse through information and communication technologies (ICT)
5.2: Improvement of methods or data for environmental impact assessment,
without limiting ourselves to these.
Geological Institute of Romania (GIR) is a member of the union of geological services in Europe (EuroGeoSurveys), being the only institution in Romania authorized to develop national geological and geophysical maps, with a rich infrastructure and researchers in both geology/geophysics and related domains.
New methodologies are approached, such as iterative and interactive modeling by corroborating all knowledge information (geological, geophysical, geodetical). Using 3D geological / geophysical modeling to include, in addition to geometric shapes and relationships between geological objects, indirect information represented by geophysical parameters, as Earth response functions, and methods for describing information about the internal attributes of geological formations, to it also incorporates multiparametric geophysical attributes and information.
The large amount of information accumulated over time is organized as dynamic database and managed using the most modern information technologies, which include the development of unitary platforms.
GIR has been and is a frequent participant in national and international projects on various topics, including ERA MIN, which can be seen on the institution's website.
