EDAFOTEC is a technology-based company founded in 2012, with extensive experience in the field of research in contaminated and degraded soils, environmental consulting and management of innovation projects.
The projects carried out by EDAFOTEC include the rehabilitation of contaminated and/or degraded waters, soils and/or ecosystems, by using cutting-edge technologies such as artificial soils*, biochars** and other eco-efficient solutions.
Keeping in mind always residue valorization as the input for the production of artificial soils, our in situ solutions are more effective and efficient than most of the others present in the market.
EDAFOTEC has carried out and is currently carrying out works in Angola, Spain, Portugal and Peru, and has a commercial presence in Chile, Indonesia and Mexico.
*Artificial soils are soils made of organic and inorganic residues, which mimic natural soils´ formation processes and can be designed for restorations purposes.
**Biochar is a porous carbon-rich material produced from pyrolysis of biomass residues originated from agricultural and forestry production. It can be used to immobilize heavy metals and organic pollutants in the soil through chemical retention processes.
